An FX-Map Link is a reference to an FX-Map stored in an external preset file. In a way, this quite like the concept of "shortcuts" to a file you can create on your desktop. See also the Shared Ressources and External Links pages for more details about this.

Choosing "Open the referenced preset" is equivalent to opening the corresponding FX-Map set in the library:

Most of the FX-Map Links you will use are stored in the "FX-Map Presets" folder. These FX-Maps are accessible through the Presets Tab on the left of the GUI :
To add an FX-Map Link, simply drag&drop the selected preset into the Compositing Graph:
"Set reference ...": Choose which FX-Map this link references
"Flatten reference ...": Converts the FX-Map Link to an editable FX-Map (i.e. make a local copy of it)
